"description": "Ø25-bore pneumatic piston-cylinder actuator, built from scratch with its full mounting hardware — 18 distinct parts across steel/chrome, aluminum, and rubber-seal material groups, presented with a quarter cutaway so the internal piston and dynamic seal read at a glance. WHAT'S IN IT (18 parts) Cylinder tube (Ø25 bore, Ø33 OD, 82mm) with a display cutaway wedge and M33×1.5 external threads at BOTH ends • two end heads that SCREW onto the tube (M33×1.5 internal threads, not bolted): a cap-end head with an integral clevis lug, and a rod-end head carrying the rod seal and 36mm wrench flats • piston with a dynamic O-ring gland • piston rod (Ø12.5) press-fit onto the piston and M10-threaded for the rod eye • rod eye • base clevis (double-ear) • mounting bracket • 2 clevis pins (with e-clip grooves + tip lead-ins) • 2 e-clips • 2 AS568 O-rings • 4 M5 socket-head cap screws. DOCTRINE APPLIED SEALS — dynamic radial glands sized with calculate_gland (Parker ORD 5700). Piston: AS568-210 (CS 3.53mm), 15% squeeze → 3.00mm gland depth, groove root Ø19.0 × 4.77mm wide, gland fill 68.4%, ID stretch 1.9% (all inside the 10–20% squeeze / 60–85% fill / 1–5% stretch bands). Rod: AS568-112 (CS 2.62mm), 15% squeeze → 2.23mm depth, groove root Ø16.95 × 3.54mm, fill 68.4%, stretch 1.05%. NBR (Buna-N) chosen — the default for air/oil service. 15–20° lead-in chamfers protect both seals at assembly. THREADS — ISO 261. Tube↔heads M33×1.5 (fine), tap/counterbore Ø = 33−1.5 = 31.5; rod↔eye M10×1.5 (tap drill Ø8.5). Screw/bolt build order honored: tip lead-in chamfer BEFORE add_thread, cut on the solid shank. add_thread / add_internal_thread used for real 60° V-threads (no round-groove fakes). JOINING — rod-to-piston is a light press fit (JOINING §3, thick-wall Lamé via calculate_press_fit): Ø8.01 spigot into Ø8.00 bore, δ=0.01mm (~0.00125·d, H7/p6 band) → 43 MPa interface pressure, hub safety factor 2.6 on 6061-T6, ~1.3 kN axial grip over 10mm — a real stressed joint, not a modeling trick. ENGINEERING — plan_build → build → critique loop per part; machinist build order (stock → big removals → small features → edge breaks last); set_manufacturing_context(CNC) so DFM checks use machining rules, not FDM. Axisymmetric parts are single 360° revolves of stepped profiles. PARAMETRIC — document variables drive the design (bore_dia, oring_cs, oring_squeeze_pct, rod_dia, clevis_ear_height, …) with derived expressions (piston_groove_root = bore_dia − 2·oring_cs·(1−squeeze/100), etc.). Propagation was live-tested: binding the clevis ear extrude to clevis_ear_height and changing 26→30mm moved the part's bbox height by the expected +4mm, then reverted. SWAPPABLE PARAMETERS: bore diameter, stroke length, and O-ring cross-section (AS568 series) — the gland roots, groove widths, and tube length re-derive from these. MATERIALS grouped by function: steel/chrome tube, rod & piston; dark-anodized aluminum heads; natural-aluminum clevis/eye; blue-anodized bracket; black seals; black-oxide pins/screws/clips. VERIFICATION: every gland root and e-clip groove confirmed by circular-EDGE-center queries (not face origins); check_interference run (expected overlaps are the two seal squeezes and the press fit); critique_design run per part and on the assembly. PROCUREMENT (not modeled as separate geometry): the two NBR O-rings and two e-clips are shown as real solids at installed dimensions but are off-the-shelf catalog items (AS568-210, AS568-112; DIN 6799 Ø8 e-clips). DISCLOSED ECONOMIZATIONS: the four M5 cap screws carry full hex-socket drives and true SHCS proportions but their thread helices are not cut (parked for build performance — Orchard's kernel slows every operation once many helices coexist in one document); they read as fasteners and mate into real M5 tapped/clearance holes. The threaded joints' helices are modeled where they define the design (tube ends, both heads, rod, eye).",
