"description": "Pistol crossbow built at full draw: sculpted polymer stock with pistol grip, open trigger guard and cocking stirrup, aluminium riser with a half-round flight trough the full length, front sight bridge over the trough, tapered laminate limbs with string nocks on riser pivots, string catch on twin rails, sear on a pin, trigger blade on a fork with 20 mm finger room, cross-bolt safety, fletched bolt with a field point. Physics playground (2400 Hz step, speed guard raised to 80 m/s): each limb is a lumped 32 N/mm spring (5 J per limb), the strings are 200 N/mm springs, the sear hold is the catch slide's stroke stop. The trigger chain is physical: a 1 N·m finger torque at 1.0 s swings the trigger blade, a lever control drives the sear from the trigger hinge, and when the sear clears −20° the catch stop and the bolt clip open. Drag the trigger blade to fire it yourself. MEASURED: draw ~150 N per string (~300 N, 67 lbf; hand calc 250 N), limb spring 569 N, release ~15 ms, bolt 16–21 m/s, string slam ~750 N tension. FEA from the string slam on the left limb held at its pivot: 139 MPa, 81 mm, factor of safety 0.32 with the NYLON placeholder (E 1.7 GPa; the material library has no glass laminate) — a glass/wood laminate at E 25 GPa and 600 MPa flexural would be roughly 6 mm and a factor of safety near 4. MODELED: limbs as lumped springs (no bending), strings as springs (can push when slack), bolt guided on a rail (no drop or aero), sear hold as a joint stop. Manufacturing: glass-filled polymer stock, 6061 riser, laminated limbs, 4130 sear/trigger/pins, 6 mm aluminium bolt.",
