"description": "Two-stage spur gearbox, OVERALL RATIO 9:1 (20:60 x 20:60, module 1), 51 parts, built from scratch against Orchard doctrine: MOTION Section 2 (Lewis bending, metric-module form + Y table), Section 1 (bearing L10 via calculate_bearing_life), Section 5 (shaft discipline: co-axial seats, locate-one-float-one), FEA (setup recipe: fixture the feet, force loads on the bearing pockets — used to justify the housing walls), SEALS (dynamic radial lip seals at both shaft exits), THREADS (tip chamfer before add_thread), ENGINEERING build order, REFERENCE_DESIGNS bearing-shaft + motor-axis patterns. MECHANISM: a NEMA17 stepper bolts to a windowed motor BELL (4x M3 into the motor, counterbored heads; 4x M4 into the cover) and drives a blue Ø16 clamp coupling (Ø5->Ø8, 2 slits + 2 radial M3 setscrews, visible through the bell windows) onto the INPUT shaft, whose 20T pinion is machined INTEGRAL with the shaft. Stage 1 meshes the keyed 60T gear on the INTERMEDIATE shaft (integral 20T stage-2 pinion on the same shaft); stage 2 meshes the keyed 60T output gear (hub + 6 lightening holes) on the Ø15 OUTPUT shaft. All three shafts run in-line at a=40mm centers, each on TWO shielded ball bearings sized by their torque: 608ZZ (input), 6001ZZ (intermediate), 6002ZZ (output) — 6 bearings individually modeled (outer ring w/ shield fins + inner ring each). Per MOTION Section 5 the back-wall bearing of each shaft is LOCATED (pocket lip on the outer race; shaft shoulder + DIN-471 snap ring on the inner race — 3 snap rings modeled in real grooves) and the cover bearing FLOATS (+1mm pocket depth). The one-piece cast tub carries exterior ribs, a bolted foot flange (4x M6), the machined cover flange, and the output seal boss; the COVER (on a 1.0mm fiber gasket, 8x individually-modeled M5 SHCS around the full perimeter) carries the input seal boss and a brass M14x1.5 oil-fill plug — REAL external helix threading into a REAL tapped port. Rotary lip seals 22x8 (input) and 26x14 (output) seal both shaft exits. NUMBERS (live-verified in-app): input 0.40 N*m @ 300 rpm -> output 3.46 N*m @ 33 rpm (eta 0.98/mesh). LEWIS (calculate_gear_stress) on the weakest member, the stage-2 20T pinion: Ft = 2*1176/20 = 117.6 N, Kv = 1.017, Y(20T) = 0.322 -> sigma = 37.1 MPa vs 140 MPa (cut steel) -> n = 3.8; stage-1 pinion sigma ~13 MPa. Face width 10 = 10*m (6..12m band); 20 teeth >= 17 (no undercut). BEARINGS (calculate_bearing_life): 6001ZZ at the intermediate shaft carries both meshes (P ~158 N) -> L10 = (5400/158)^3 = 4.0e4 Mrev; 608ZZ and 6002ZZ larger still — C/P >= 5 rule met everywhere. FEA (fea_run, draft, aluminum_6061; fixture = foot faces; loads = per-pocket mesh reactions 21/79/63 N): max von Mises 3.29 MPa, min FoS 83.79, max displacement 0.0015 mm (fixtured at the 4 M6 foot-bolt holes per the FEA doctrine bolt-hole option) -> the 8mm walls / 12mm back are stress-trivial; wall thickness is governed by bearing-pocket depth (10.5mm for the 6002) and seat co-axiality stiffness (MOTION-5: seats within 0.1mm), not strength. PARAMETRIC: module_mm, pinion_teeth, gear_teeth (stage ratios), gear_face_w, input_torque_nmm, brg_in/mid/out_bore are document variables; gear_face_w is live-bound to the Gear1 blank + teeth extrudes and was propagation-tested 10->16->10 (LIVE: bbox dz 10 -> 22 -> back — the blank top follows the variable and the tooth extrude, anchored on its fixed sketch plane, deepens by the same delta; both bound ops regenerated). Swapping tooth counts re-derives the ratio; bearing bores re-derive the seat diameters per the stated stack. DISCLOSED: 608ZZ/6001ZZ/6002ZZ bearings modeled as outer ring (with ZZ shield fins) + inner ring; balls/cage concealed by shields, not modeled; bearings, NEMA17 stepper, snap rings, lip seals, key stock and all screws are procurement items. M3/M4/M5 screw + setscrew thread helices economized (shanks at nominal Ø inside tap-drill holes -> the overlap zones ARE the thread engagements; asm-02..05 treatment). The brass fill plug carries a REAL M14x1.5 add_thread helix threading into a REAL add_internal_thread tapped cover port. Gear teeth are straight-flank trapezoid approximations of the involute (tips shaved 0.15mm for backlash) — the CSG mesh zones show small expected contact overlaps. Press-fit, screw-in-tap, snap-ring-in-groove and seal-squeeze overlaps are the expected interferences. The doc deliberately reopens EXPLODED so both gear stages are visible on the browse page (the closed housing hides them assembled). Skipped steps: cover-port-thread: port internal thread failed (removed=0); bore left at tap-drill Ø12.5",
