"description": "Three-blade horizontal-axis turbine, 1 m rotor: 60×4 steel tower tube on a base plate, yaw stub with the nacelle on a free axial mate, Ø20 main shaft on an axial mate into a DC generator, aluminium hub with three 20°-pitched PLA blades (60×4 chord) in exact root pockets on M6 root bolts, tail boom and vane. Physics playground: outdoors preset, per-face wind aero, 8 m/s from 30° off the rotor axis, generator = DC motor model at 0 V into 1 Ω winding + 10 Ω load (kv 35), a gust to 14 m/s at 14 s via environment sequence steps. MEASURED (rec 26 s): spin-up to 154 rpm at 8 m/s (0.11 N·m, 1.6 W electrical), 202 rpm / 0.15 N·m / 2.9 W in the gust, rotor thrust peak 3.2 N, nacelle yaws into the wind and hunts 18–45° about the 30° wind direction. FEA from the recorded thrust peak on the bonded rotor (hub, shaft, blades, bolts) held at the shaft bearing: 2.3 MPa, 13 mm tip droop (gravity), factor of safety 22; centrifugal load NOT modelled. HONESTY: the aero model is Newtonian pressure on windward faces only (no lift, no suction side), so the rotor is drag-driven and makes ~2 W where a real 1 m turbine makes 50–100 W at 8 m/s; rotor speed is also capped by the solver's 45°-per-step limit. Manufacturing: printed or CNC foam-core blades, machined aluminium hub and nacelle, standard bearings, steel tower tube.",
