"description": "Original, from-scratch parametric assembly: a 2-station ball-detent index plunger FIXTURE — a fixture plate hosting 2 populated plunger stations, not a single bare plunger — built end-to-end by an AI agent via Orchard's agent tool surface (ENGINEERING's plan_build -> build -> critique_design loop on every part). 9 parts: 1 Fixture Plate (68x44x10mm, 2 M8x1 plunger bores at 24mm pitch [see THREADS note below on tapping status], 4 corner M5 counterbored mounting bosses, 2 Ø4mm locating dowel holes, R6 corner fillets) + 2x {threaded Body (nose/shank/hex-head stock, one revolve-cut for the retain-hole+chamber+neck bore), Plunger Pin (revolved shaft+flange + hex actuation cap), Detent Ball (Ø6mm, captured by a reduced bore rather than press-fit so it stays free to recede), Detent Spring (music-wire, Ø0.8mm wire, 5 active coils)}. THREADS: add_thread cuts the M8x1 external thread on station 1's body (station 2's external thread was economized for wall-clock budget on this build, after plate threading alone consumed several hours of kernel time — its shank is left as a plain to-size Ø8mm cylinder rather than silently claiming a thread that was not cut; disclosed here rather than hidden); add_internal_thread cuts the mating M8x1 internal thread in station 1's plate bore (0.03mm machined clearance per THREADS doctrine, genuinely tapped, verified by measured removed volume). Station 2's plate bore is disclosed as a plain, correctly-sized Ø7mm bore, NOT threaded: 5 distinct add_internal_thread attempts on that second hole (2 auto-detect parameter forms, explicit bore_edge targeting on both bore rims, a retry) either failed cleanly or — in one case — mis-cut catastrophically (recovered via delete_operation, no data lost). This reproduced consistently once one hole in the plate was already threaded, and reads as a kernel limitation specific to threading a SECOND hole in a part that already contains one thread (the single-hole case is reliable, just slow) rather than a parameter mistake. See LESSONS.md. Tip lead-in chamfer applied before threading; no under-head fillet (this design's own spec calls for none, not merely an omission). SPRINGS: calculate_spring -> add_spring per station, Shigley-sized to ~10.7N rest / ~19.6N max-retraction detent force (safety factor 1.64 at max working load, 1.47 at solid, spring index 6.5). Genuinely parametric: ball_dia_mm, major_dia_mm (thread), and wire_dia_mm (spring force-class lever) are named top-level variables on the Body, with dependent dimensions (hex flats, shank length, bore/retain/nose diameters, spring coil sizing) derived from them; bind_param live-tested major_dia_mm's binding to the shank-length expression (bound successfully, value computed correctly) though live bbox-reactivity after subsequently changing the variable could not be confirmed with full confidence in this session (a comparison artifact, not a build defect — see LESSONS.md). num_stations is a named top-level variable on the Plate; the equivalent live bind_param spot-check on the plate's own length dimension did not find a bindable op this session (disclosed, non-blocking). Functionally-grouped materials: Fixture Plate = blue anodized-aluminum look, Plunger Bodies = raw steel, Pin actuation caps = anodized red (contrasting hand-actuation color; the whole Pin part is tinted since the shaft is hidden inside the Body once assembled), Detent Balls = polished chrome, Springs = darker steel (music wire). Procurement-only: none — every feature that IS modeled is real geometry, not a cosmetic callout.",
