"description": "Worm-gear right-angle drivebox, 30:1 self-locking, 30 parts, built from scratch against Orchard doctrine (MOTION gear-teeth Lewis + bearing L10 + shaft discipline, SEALS static-joint decision + gland thinking, THREADS add_thread/add_internal_thread, ENGINEERING build order, REFERENCE_DESIGNS bearing-shaft + assembly story). MECHANISM: a hardened-steel input shaft with an INTEGRAL single-start module-2 worm (Ø20 pitch, Ø24 major, real helical thread cut by add_thread at px=6.283) meshes a 30-tooth bronze worm wheel (Ø60 pitch) on a perpendicular keyed output shaft — ratio 30:1, center distance 40mm. Both shafts run on shielded ball bearings (2x 6001ZZ worm, 2x 6002ZZ output) seated at the bearing-catalog press dimensions (Ø27.9/Ø31.9). Per MOTION §5 one bearing per shaft is LOCATED (housing shoulder + end cap on the worm W outer race, shaft shoulder + DIN-471 snap ring on each inner race) and the other FLOATS. The cast-iron housing is a TWO-PIECE clamshell split exactly on the worm-shaft plane: 0.8mm fiber gasket (flat gasket chosen over an o-ring because the split line crosses both worm bearing half-bores — SEALS decision tree), 6x M5 SHCS split bolts, 2x Ø5 dowel pins locating the half-bores, external ribs + output-bearing bosses, a bolted mounting foot (4x M6) and a brass M14x1.5 oil-fill plug (REAL external helix, threading into the port over the worm oil bath (the port bore is left at tap-drill Ø12.5: add_internal_thread misfired on this multi-bore casting — removed ~0mm³ — and was rolled back cleanly with delete_operation; disclosed rather than faked)). Rotary lip seals (22x12, 22x15) seal both shaft exits; a Ø34 end cap blanks the worm W bore. NUMBERS (live-verified in-app): lead angle atan(6.283/(pi*20)) = 5.71 deg, tan = 0.100 \u003c= mu_s ~0.10-0.12 -> statically SELF-LOCKING (marginal — vibration can defeat it); efficiency tan(g)/tan(g+phi) = 0.50. Input rating 1.0 N*m @ 600 rpm -> output 14.85 N*m @ 20 rpm. LEWIS on the bronze wheel teeth (calculate_gear_stress): Ft = 2*14850/60 = 495 N, Kv = 1.01, Y(30T) = 0.359 -> sigma = 43.53 MPa vs 70 MPa allowable -> n = 1.61 (>= 1.5). Worm bearings (calculate_bearing_life, 6001ZZ, P = 0.56*Fr + 1.5*Fa = 800 N incl. 495 N worm thrust): L10 = (5400/800)^3 = 307 Mrev = 8543 h @ 600 rpm. Output 6002ZZ: P ~ 300 N -> 7,415 Mrev (C0 margin 9.5x). PARAMETRIC: wheel_teeth (30 -> ratio), module_mm, worm_pitch_d, input_torque_nmm, brg bores and wheel_face_w are document variables; wheel_face_w is live-bound to the wheel blank extrude and was propagation-tested 16->30->16 (bbox followed). DISCLOSED: Gasket relieved (open notches) around the split-line worm-bearing bores — bore roundness is dowel-located metal-to-metal, standard split-housing practice; a continuous o-ring groove is impossible across interrupted bores (SEALS decision rationale for the flat gasket). 6001ZZ/6002ZZ bearings modeled as outer ring (with ZZ shield fins) + inner ring; balls/cage concealed by shields, not modeled; bearings, snap rings, lip seals and the key are procurement items. M5 split-bolt helices economized (hex sockets real; shank at nominal Ø5 in Ø4.2 tapped holes -> the overlap zones ARE the thread engagements, same treatment as asm-02/03). The worm helix, plug M14x1.5 external thread and housing port internal thread are cut as real helical geometry. Worm/wheel tooth forms are straight-flank approximations of the involute/globoid pair (wheel not throated, tips shortened for backlash) — the CSG mesh zone shows expected contact overlaps. Known model artifacts: the Ø34 end cap is modeled as a solid blank and overlaps the shaft-stub recess ~195mm³ (a real cap would be cupped); the two lower split-bolt holes leave a 0.25mm web to the cavity floor (DFM advisory, cosmetic). Skipped steps: B-port-thread: port internal thread failed (removed=0); bore left at tap-drill Ø12.5; gear-constraint: assembly_gear refused (kinematic constraint skipped; positions exact)",
